Illicit Parting Gifts

Whenever I come across people who have accepted filial possessions that can mar a person's virtuous living there seems to be a lone reason cited: it being avarice. They cannot let go of it, though clearly the asset is being acquired and handed down by illicit means. I was privy to one such quandary. I know a person who made a man drunk and through coaxing with sweet words, made him sign a land agreement in that inebriated state. Taking advantage of this signed document, the person usurped the land amounting to a few acres. Though this was a unethical but legal deal, his sons too followed suit. This battle is raging through generations. The lone cause of this long-standing lawsuit is avarice. Being at the threshold of acquiring the lousily dealt property, the next generation of the usurper cannot resist letting go. The best they can do is give up the claim towards the land. All that remains is a generation of woes. There are other better things than money in life. And the best th...

Of Subtle Colloquies And Berated Nerves

There is ample evidence around that subtle colloquies exist and even the hearers find them explicitly meaningful. This is so true that even the larger audience found to be spectators to it have a sound judgment and discern the real hidden meaning. Let us see where this can be related to. Imagine a villain in a movie talking to his henchmen. He does this tersely. No doubt. But the fact is that the goon who is commanded by him understands it. One of this scenario could be what to do next with the prized catch- a damsel. The creativity gestured by the boss like the manner to tie or how to hang the guillotine or upon whom to tie the victim. All of this is understood by just a gesture. Villainous rants can be so nonsensical to the upright however berated they get watching the piece of action. But, are a treasure of information to goons who are innately creative. So be a goon and create something. The world is watching.

Stephen Hawking: A Man Of Grit

Stephen Hawking was a studious and promising student all his school and academic life. His father had great faith in his abilities; And why not? Even Hawking's school mates dubbed him 'Einstein' owing to his wit. But, what made him a great thinker that he was? Even after gaining a scholarship at Oxford, Hawking did not consider himself a great intellectual. Though this may be his attempt to appear modest, it should be noted that he was quite adamant of it. There comes a paradigm shift in his career when he is diagnosed with motor neurone disease at the age of 26. He becomes more focused and industrious as an after-effect of it. Being always on the brink of death --as warned by many doctors whom he consulted-- it made him to push himself in academics. His grit is fathomed even more when he wryly states that he outlived the time they gave him to live. And more bluntly: he changed those medical professionals for the better. He was a man satisfied with his life. His profe...

Jubilation: It's Saving Grace

Any kind of jubilation that brings about an appeasement of senses does indeed help in the long run. Maybe, the enthusiasm has waned down the following day, but the after-effects are soothing. This amelioration is directed towards the satiation of hunger and is very uplifting. I was rummaging through the rubble left behind from the previous night's celebration- it being Easter. Though seemingly usual act and futile of being satisfactory, it came across my mind that there are remnants of this jubilation present in the house. I grabbed one or two bottles of soft drinks or eatables and made myself comfortable. This is absolutely essential after a long duel of work. Moral of the story: Have time for one or two celebrations and the blues of the next day can vanish into thin air.

Laxity Pompoms

There is a lax side to every stringent norm or regulation or enforcement, however effective it may sound. This side puts the person at the receiving end to a great deal of comfort or easiness, though at the outset it seems that the he is not. Only a close inspection from the peers can help the naked eye to have a grasp of this. To elucidate further, imagine a person driving in his car on a bylane. All his peers around seem to be following the traffic norms. But, actually in a place with a stipulated speed limit of 40 Kmph, those people are driving much faster and well above it. Though this is a crime, everyone remains reticent about it. They only worry regarding spot fines and the like. This sums up the intricacies of modern life where all of such things exist and people do away with it. Such pompoms remind us a great deal about discipline in our city that is much alike pompoms- only for decoration. All such nothingness could possibly help us brag about the much hallowed city life...
