There is a very easy way to spot people who have had a violent history in their families or have come from an area known for strife. The trait to look out for in such people around is a tendency to remain calm and composed in very demanding or volatile situations. This pacifist nature in character is a treasure trove of information for keen minds.

I was once acquainted with a person who seemed eerily calm and would dismiss every volatile situation with a different outlook. Such was the case that even when provoked, he would remain calm. The words that came out of his mouth were of understanding. This was during my late teenage years.

Having met with many such people in my lifetime, conclusions could be drawn. These being that, though privy to a violent experience or background, they do not respond back in angst. Somehow in their later years they can become thus. It rests only with them as to how they react.

The ball is in their court. Culpability from society is rife, though.
