 People at their workplaces need to be very strict about the kind of colleagues they be with. This, in fact, decides their further course and progress at this job. It even creates an attitude or liking about things such close coworkers can project on them. Good company of colleagues helps to strive and work hard at the office. It also puts one in favour and at par with other sincere, hardworking peers. There was a time when a person was making a mark at a new workplace. As I was close to him, the incident touched me greatly. This person was supposed to work in a team with another peer and this had an effect on him for a  long time. The colleague he worked with was lethargic and used to work as if to evade the attention of his boss.  In order to survive in the rat race around, it is very necessary to have one's own personal brand of motivation. There are a number of such things that trigger and motivate everyone. This can be at their workplaces or hostels or university campuses or school. The best ones helping others and maybe, me can be shown here. I met a person at my university hostel and was impressed by what motivates him. It was a simple thing. He revealed it to me while I was in his room.  People who are sycophants do it for some or the other reason of extracting favour. This favour is the fuel for their long cherished dream or their version of luxury. Prodding themselves on the back and moving forward to actually building castles in the air is the norm of the day for them. This motivation towards their dream is actually less rewarding. I was face-to-face with one such incident. The hardware shopkeeper I was taken to by my plumber spoke at length about my well-being, future prospects and the whereabouts of my acquaintances. This he did after selling me a premium piece of faucet for the washroom. Actually, other ordinary ones would cost a third of the amount. Least to be told, he was extremely happy and content; the plumber also got commission. This sycophancy does come to people who are less content and yielding to stock up riches for themselves.  Victimhood is loved by the masses. Every now and then, victims come in people's thinking through a sinister idea of minting money and they oblige. People love this to such a degree that they lavish a lot of attention. Nonetheless, the effect is so shallow in terms of praises over time. No one who loves victims never help them to the point they are hurt. But only till the next fault of theirs comes to light. I witnessed this in our neighbourhood. The neighbour was discriminately used by her relative to help her in time of distress. In this case, the distress was the performing of household chores and even caring for the newborn son. This involved also cleaning the washable diapers. Even the whole family of the victim was doing this- all her brood. People started loving her and lamenting over her plight. It is a norm with adults that childhood comes as something to be cherished. They even think of children as blissful. But, on the other side, things are not at all pleasant for these little souls. A list of these qualities are presented here for your discretion. Firstly, parents trust the children and these are expected to not break their trust for any reason. Secondly, they are chided for every single fault which infuriates adults; many times the tots end up badly beaten. Thirdly, there is no money on them always; they ask for it. There is always a difference put across them- good children and bad children. There exists many such pressures and expectations on children. They are a harried lot. But love comforts them greatly and adults are less privy to such. A chasm exists between both phases of life. A very worrying fact.

There is a lot of leaning for wisdom to reach the masses. One of them is the art of making a choice. The choice of deciding what one needs to prove and to whom. These may vary from person to person and the best choice with a huge number of following can do wonders. Less said than done, yielding to irrelevant choices and becoming a puppet of the naysayer can drive one to perdition. I was once a part of such an episode. The person known to me was egging me on to settle score with another who was comely and handsome with his choices. His grouse was that the one with whom he compared me was above par at everything and I was lagging. The apple and orange thing crops up here. But, we won't go deep into it or else, there won't be enough oranges in the market. This comparison went on until I proved that my milestones were different and I being a mystic, had a different timeline to stick to. There is a saying that goes thus, 'You are what you read.' Well, it is true to the extent that whenever one buys a book, he has a goal to achieve. This can be to increase knowledge in a certain area. Some buy to have a great collection of books and stick to their genre that enthuses them. Whatever the topic one wants to read, there forms a opinion because of the facts --that can change-- presented in the way the writer thinks. Imagine, one reader who wants to know about a certain subject. Maybe he finds the answer to his questions in the book, but the way they are presented and some other facts overlooked bring a picture in his mind. A person reading a book with a left-leaning ideology develops his thinking in the same way. Another, with a right-leaning ideology develops his thoughts in the way portrayed.
